Help Send Grandma Noy Back to Thailand to Live Her Final Years in Peace

Hi, my name is Amaya, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my 70-year-old grandma Noy. After 50 years of hard work in the U.S., she’s now asking to go home to Thailand — where she hopes to live out the rest of her life in peace and comfort.

Her Story

Grandma Noy’s life has been everything but easy. In 1975, she came to the U.S. from Thailand at just 20 years old, brought here by an American soldier during the Vietnam War era. Once she arrived he abandoned her pregnant, alone, in a foreign country.

But hope found its way to her. My grandfather found her, took her in, and gave her a chance to rebuild.

She raised my father and uncle in Homestead, Florida, with nothing but determination. She didn’t speak English and didn’t have a dollar to her name. She supported her family for years by picking mangoes and selling them on the roadside.

Even when she had little, she gave everything. As a child, I remember her driving hours just to visit me, never missing a birthday or holiday. She always showed up with food, gifts, or simply love. She’s the kind of woman who helps without asking and gives without expecting anything in return.

But now, life has caught up with her.

Her health is declining. She can no longer climb trees or work. She’s living in a rundown camper with no kitchen, no working fridge, no bathroom, and no place to wash her clothes. The floor is uneven and dangerous, bugs crawl through the walls, and piles of debris surround her home.

She eats just enough to make sure her dog — her only companion — is fed.
She’s surviving. But she shouldn’t have to anymore.

Her One Wish

We originally hoped to buy her a new home. But after visiting her and truly listening to her, she told me what she really wants: to go home to Thailand.

She doesn’t want another camper. She doesn’t want to keep fighting to survive in a country that was never truly home. She wants to return to the place she was taken from and never allowed to return to — to live her final years surrounded by her language, her culture, and her memories.

What We’re Trying to Do:

We’re now raising funds to help fulfill
her wish and send her back to Thailand — not just to visit, but to live. With your help, we can:
• Purchase roundtrip airfare for myself and a one way ticket for grandma
• Help her find and secure safe, long-term housing in Thailand
• Furnish her new home with basics: a bed, fridge, stove, and other essentials
• Ensure she receives healthcare and medications as needed
• Stock her home with groceries and hygiene items
• Cover paperwork or visa/legal fees
• Provide transportation and setup support as she acclimates
• Create an emergency fund to support her transition and any unforeseen needs

I plan to stay with her for a couple months, depending on the circumstances, to make sure she’s safe, settled, and supported.

Why It Matters

This is more than a plane ticket.
This is her final wish — the chance to return to her roots, to live out her last chapter in peace after a lifetime of struggle.

She has given so much, and asked for so little.

Even a small donation helps bring us closer to reuniting her with her home. And if you’re unable to give, please consider sharing her story. That alone could make all the difference.

With all of my heart — thank you for reading, and thank you for caring.

With love and gratitude,
Amaya M.
