Help grandma Lorraine build her house
Hi, I’m Claudia Cassadore (Deyah). My grandparents are the late Maybelline Mason & Elliot / Oakie Mason. I am from the Whitemountain Apache Tribe, from Cibecue Arizona. I currently reside in Bronx, NY, and have lived in NYC for the past 13 years. During my most recent visit home, I traveled to take my grandpa Oakie to visit his sister, Lorraine Mason. After seeing her current living conditions, I wanted to reach out to the community, since she is desperate need of your help. She is living in a small hand built shack on her land in Cibecue AZ, while only the foundation of her home is assembled. Arizona summers are incredibly hot, usually in the 100’s. My grandma Lorraine does not have running water, electricity or shade to hide from the sun, besides her shack & the trees surrounding her property. She is an important elder in our community, carrying knowledge of our traditional Apache ways of making burden baskets, camp dresses, and cradle boards. I know these times are difficult financially, but we owe it to our elders who raised us, to get them whatever assistance we can. Let’s get my grandmas dream home built! Please Donate or SHARE!!
Thank you on behalf of our family.
