Help Gracie Keep Her Home

Graciela "Gracie" Anderson has always been a vibrant, social person, known for her warmth and kindness in her Texas community. For over 46 years, I’ve had the privilege of calling her a friend. But since May 2023, Gracie’s life has changed dramatically. She became legally blind due to glaucoma, a condition made even more difficult by her diabetes. Unable to drive or work, she’s faced each day with courage, but the challenges have been overwhelming.

Gracie lives alone with her loyal dog, Champ. She applied for disability benefits in June 2023 and is working with a law firm to secure her future, but the process is slow. With no income, she’s relied on her family’s help for basic needs like utilities, groceries, and medical care. Despite these hardships, Gracie’s spirit remains strong. She finds comfort in weekly bible study visits from a local church member, but the isolation and financial strain have taken a toll.

Since Gracie does not currently have a checking or savings account, I will be receiving the funds on her behalf and making sure they go directly to her for her urgent needs. The most urgent need is helping Gracie keep her home. She is at risk of losing it this August due to back taxes. Until her disability benefits are approved, she also needs support for utility bills and ongoing medical expenses. Any help will make a real difference in Gracie’s life, giving her hope and stability as she navigates this difficult time.
