Help Gracie Heal from Raccoon Attacks
Donation protected
Hello, we adopted our fur baby Gracie in January and she was underweight, reactive/scared of everything and anything/one. In this short time she’s come a long way! Minimal fears now and has made many dog friends. Unfortunate she was attacked by a raccoon not once but twice in two days!!! One time while playing with her bestie at a neighborhood park (we live in gated community) and the second time literally as we walked out our front door. Unprovoked both times. First time raccoon was watching her babies on a tree and must have assumed our fur babies were a threat. Went after our Gracie (1.5 years dachshund mix) as she was the smaller dog. This was Saturday evening. That day Gracie hurt her right front leg and was unable to walk. Cried all night. Took her to vet and sure enough she sprained/bruised her leg and is on pain medicine and muscle relaxers. Monday night as I opened the door to take her on her walk, a raccoon ran out of a bush and jumped on her. Within seconds of walking out! We got it off her with a broom within a few seconds, but this time the raccoon scratched her eye and ears. Took her to vet again and she’s on further pain medicine, antibiotics, they gave her a rabies booster and ran further tests to ensure she didn’t get any nasty disease from the raccoon. Our baby is tired, sad, scared. She will heal but we need help with the bills. Please. Even a small donation would be so appreciated.
Thank you.
