Help Grace and Kendall Build Adventuring Lakeland

When it rains it pours! Or that’s what they say, but Grace and I, we love the rain! The more the better, dancing in it, reading listening to it, crack the window to hear it while sleeping! While we love that rain, we are in need of an umbrella so we can take leap into something we are feeling passionate about. We are asking for donations to help us get started building that umbrella. We both recently lost our jobs, long story and it will be okay! But it wasn’t planned, we have some savings and are applying all over the place, but it is slow moving. So in the meantime, we are trying our hand at creating something fun!

This is where you come in! Lakeland just got ranked in the top 10 “BOOMTOWNS” in the US. There is so much to do here and we want to help people find activities and events that suit their needs.

We want to build a website featuring restaurants, boutiques, pet boutiques, churches, parks and homeschooling events.

With Grace being a former homeschooler, she understands that it can be hard to find new places to go to educate your kids (think scavenger hunts at parks)

We would charge businesses a nominal fee to be listed on our site, but we are also going to strive for business sponsors. There are two other websites for Lakeland that are similar, but we want to bring a new vibe and bring the feel of community together, talk to the local businesses in person and work together to show the hometown feel in a growing city!

But we need some money to get started.

We got our domain name: AdventuringLakeland.com and I am creating the website on a free platform, but will need to pay to upgrade eventually.

We also want to visit all the places we list, so we would like to get a better camera so we can show the beauty here.

Eventually, we would like to create a local podcast so we will need a microphone and little bit better computer than we currently have so we can edit. So, if you see two weirdos on a boardwalk talking about birds into microphones, that would be us!

We will also need to advertise our site to get business, so we need some money to create and print flyers to hand out to businesses.

I know it may sound like a crazy idea, but we want this to work. We love exploring different parts of Lakeland and want to share that with others. We don’t want this to be just another crazy idea, we want to see it come alive. We want to put the Grace and Kendall spin on it and have fun. So, we are just asking you to hold up our umbrella and put your adventure shoes on and join us!
