On Thursday, April 16, tragedy struck GotaDental LLC when a spark from welding ignited dental chair upholstery, causing a fire that quickly spread beyond control. In a matter of moments, the shop suffered a total loss of all dental equipment, patient chairs, panos, tools, and even our brand new Bad Boy lawn mower. Wade, our business owner, was not at the shop during the fire, but he lost all his personal belongings, down to his socks and undies. While he didn’t technically live at the shop, he spent most of his time there, making this loss deeply personal.

The aftermath has been devastating for our team. On Friday, we had to lay off over half our family of employees, many of whom are young and have new babies. The uncertainty continues, as we’re not sure if we can keep the remaining staff past the end of this next week. This is the hardest part for us—seeing our close-knit team face such hardship.
