Food is the universal language of love... and creates the unity of people in all walks of life. No matter the season or occasion, nothing brings joy like food does.
This passion for food stems deeply in my family, particularly for my entrepreneurial cousins - who decided to leave the traditional work life 3 years ago and take a leap of faith towards building a family food business - Goselog!
Goselog comprises various Filipino cultural foods all authentically homemade. A vivacious family of 7 - my cousin Charles, his wife Adrienne, and 5 children: Aaliyah, Alaya, Terrence Klae, Elijah, and Ava are on a mission to share the unique flavors of Filipino cuisine through local pop-ups and deliveries starting in Modesto and extending to the San Francisco Bay Area. With recipes dating back to our family generations, they strive to preserve those unparalleled dishes to this day.
Unfortunately this dream turned into --- a living nightmare.
Then comes September 2022. What was supposed to be a milestone day, the day Charles and Adrienne put down their first deposit of $10,000 to start the long awaited build of their very own food truck ended up being a big LIE. Charles and Adrienne collected all of their savings, earnings, and even financial assistance from other family members towards this initial deposit. They were informed by the company that they would begin building right away. You can follow their journey on Youtube including the progress here: The Gose's. In December 2022, my cousins made their final deposit of $10,000 totaling at $20,000 towards this food truck project. The company informed them that the completion of the food truck was estimated for February 2023. When February came around, there seemed to be another delay, one after another.
Fast forward to May 2023. Charles and Adrienne receive ZERO responses and the food truck is nowhere to be found. My cousins and 25 other people just like them were given the heartbreaking news. They have all been SCAMMED.
Frustration, anger, and devastation all kicked in. Not to mention the mental and financial stresses placed on them and especially their little ones.
Charles and Adrienne have 5 children to raise. They have been waiting and waiting for this food truck project to come to fruition. They did not take on any new jobs, they put a pause on their pop-ups and focused mainly on food orders because they believed in this dream of bringing people together through food and depended on this new chapter.
Past due bills including their mortgage payments have accumulated. The bills do not stop accumulating and all of this is putting a heavy burden on their living situation. The last thing this family needs is to lose their home, where they have built a beautiful empire. Although Charles and Adrienne and the 25 other people who have been brutally affected by this scam are taking legal action - there is no guarantee that they will all receive their money back.
In honor of supporting family businesses and giving Goselog’s authentic flavors a chance to live on, I would like to help Charles and Adrienne raise the $20,000 that was stolen from their goal. No amount is too little. Any amount would be immensely appreciated! This would be an extraordinary help and support to their stressful situation. Additionally, check out their Instagram and place an order to support and try these delectables yourself: goselog_
We want their little ones to stay resilient and flourish from this pitfall - and one day look back and share stories to inspire others about how their parents did not let all odds against their favor keep them down. Charles and Adrienne have incredibly huge hearts. They are in this business because they love to make great food. They find fulfillment in being able to cook amazing food and see the absolute delight on their customers’ faces.
Thank you for listening to Goselog’s story. Thank you for being willing to impact a family’s future, to make a difference, and to give Goselog’s family a chance to start again.
God Bless!
