Help Good Neighbour Feed and Clothe Calgarians!

Good Neighbour is Calgary’s first pay what you want store. Started by a group of friends in 2021, the store provides clothing, hygiene items, and food to Calgarians, regardless of their ability to pay. Our mission is to provide a dignified, safe, and accessible space with essential community services under one roof for all our neighbours. We now support over 300 people a week and distribute our items for free to newcomers, low income individuals, unhoused folks, and seniors. Last year, we distributed over 50,000 items of clothing, plus numerous hygiene and food items.

In the fall of 2024, we were told that we had vacate our first store location and find a new home. Thankfully, with the help of many volunteers, we moved the store to the Central Outreach Hub. Here, we have expanded our programs and now prepare and cook nutritious meals for over 100 people a day, 5 days per week. We do not receive funding through large sponsorships or governmental funding and are supported by community members like you!

Good Neighbour is more than just a store, our space has become a hub for community building and activities. Over the last 4 years, we have built relationships with many of our customers and created an amazing network of volunteers and likeminded community members. The need for essential items like food, clothing and toiletries is rising. Our operating expenses have also risen with the addition of daily meal services as we continue to support more and more people.
