Help Build Home for Mentally Disabled in Ethiopia
Hi everyone, we are fundraising for Abune Gebere Menfeskedus Home for the Elderly and Mentally Disabled located in the remote side of Gonder, Ethiopia. Abune Gebere Menfeskedus Home is an organization focused on helping the lives of the elderly and those with mental disabilities, by providing all basic services (food, clothes, shelter, hygiene facilities, medical, educational and others) to the residents in the center.
Mental illness is something that is overlooked in most parts of Ethiopia. People with mental illness get stigmatized because of their condition (even by their own family) and hence they are not able to get the help they need which leads our brothers and sisters to unfortunate situations.
Initiatives at Abune Gebere Menfeskedus where funds will be used for:
- Helping the disabled by encouragement and rehabilitation to develop their physical and mental capacities;
- Providing education, training, and employment opportunities as possible to all disabled and elderly people in the country,
- Helping disabled and elderly people with the potential to find and retain employment and other needs to participate fully in the everyday life of society
- Working on inclusive and integrated community development, biodiversity, and livelihood improvement, especially for elder people and those with disabilities.
- Improving public awareness and acceptance of the capabilities, needs, and problems of disabled and marginalized elder people.
Please help make a difference in our community. Your support is crucial to our efforts to build a home for the Elderly and Mentally Disabled. Thank you in advance for your contribution!
