Help Glen keep his home as he fights mental health

Donation protected
Glen is a 41yo single man who has always been fascinated by the art of cooking and has pursued his passion by studying culinary arts. He has been working in the travel industry for the past 15 years or so, but for years he has been using alcohol to cope with his mental health issues and it has started to affect his professional and personal life. I have been trying to help him each time he runs into these alcoholic binges. I have challenged him to try and pull himself out of it on his own, which he has managed to do in the past. Each bout with his mental health and use of alcohol as a coping mechanism is getting longer and worse. He just can't face these challenges or snap himself out of these mental paralysis phases, on his own anymore. If his family and I didn't intervene this time, it may not have ended well. He believes he has no value or worth to anyone and has mentioned multiple times he doesn't want to be here. Glen is now at a point where he needs professional help to fight his mental health issues. He doesn't even realize he's on the verge of losing everything! If he loses his apartment I know it will push him beyond his breaking point. It is killing his family and I to see him like this. I'm just hoping to raise at least $5000 just to help him with his rent and food for a few months while he gets the help he needs.

Some of you may already know that Glen has been struggling with the use of alcohol for years, and it has begun to take its toll on him now. Glen was formerly diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and he has also tested mid to high range for ADHD. We are now seeing possible bipolar traits, which could be a result of his alcohol usage. He is experiencing chronic depression and anxiety, which has made it almost impossible for him to function normally. He will need a therapist as all of these issues need to be professionally diagnosed so he can get the proper help he needs. I will help him find a program that will help him cope with these mental paralysis phases and prevent this need for alcohol as a coping mechanism, but these programs take time. Being single, Glen cannot afford to maintain his apartment while he goes through this process. He has been off work for weeks and at this point we don't know if he still has a job or not. If he is still employed he will still need time off work to go through these programs and his current employment does not provide any benefits nor does he get paid for any time he will need to take off. I don't even know if he will be able to afford rent next month.

Glen is a hardworking individual when he is functioning at 100%. I can't sit idly by and watch him self destruct any longer. His mental health issues have crippled his professional and personal life. He needs help to navigate theses challenges as he no longer has the strength to manage this on his own. Your donation will help Glen keep his apartment while he gets the professional help he needs to find better coping mechanisms, besides alcohol, to manage his mental paralysis phases. If you can help it would be so much appreciated. It will also show him that he is valued and has worth to his friends and family. We can all get him back to 100%, back to his fun loving, outgoing self and back to being his productive member of society that he once was.
