Help glean eggs for the food shelf
Help Ian and Elizabeth at Auntie Annie's Fields LLC provide the best eggs to the local food shelf.
Would you help sponsor part of the cost of the organic-fed eggs we are producing and bringing to support hungry families? $1.50/dozen would split the cost between you and us. So when you donate $30, you’ll be sending 20 dozen fresh eggs to families who could use them. You will be supporting the independent local food system and organic agriculture, and you will be feeding hungry families.
We hope to send 1000 dozen eggs to be shared between the Northfield Community Action Center (CAC) food shelf and Northfield and PRISM's Marketplace Food Shelf in Golden Valley this fall and early winter.
We have an excess of eggs for a limited time because we ramped up egg production for our main buyer's planned expansion, but that expansion had to be delayed due to technical issues. As a result, our egg orders dropped suddenly and significantly. The orders dropped at a time when Elizabeth was recovering from a serious illness that left her hospitalized and that continues to limit her ability to work. Because of this, we do not have the resources to quickly develop markets and deliver eggs to new places.
But with your help, this situation can turned into a gift for the community. Please partner with us to make this possible. You will be supporting hungry families, our hard-working family farm, the local food system and the environment. We started our farm from scratch in 2009, about an hour south of the Twin Cities. We have raised chickens for meat and for eggs, feeding them organic feed and getting them outside to eat greens. We also sell about 10 hogs a year, feeding them organic feed as well.
Let's provide people in our community with some marvelous eggs. And as you donate, know that every $1.50 sends another dozen eggs to the food shelf.
