Hope for Hopes pt 2.

Thank you for checking in;

If you are new to our campaign, I have left the initial post copy below. If you have stopped by here, you may notice that the goal has changed. When I first launched this campaign, I was humiliated and did not to want to even post it. I also had no clue how long it would take to gain employment either, so I guessed on the low end of funding in hopes I would be back to work sooner than later.

Well, I am still looking and I am still waiting on responses from 3 very good leads/interviews. My best guess is; I will land one of the three within a couple weeks. The bad news is, the initial ask we launched was to get us to August. I am so, embarrassed I am not even sure if this will even be re-launched, but thought I would set it up in hopes kind people would stumble on it.

Things are scary right now and we are very behind on things like the electric bill for one example. If we do not come up with almost $700, APS will shut us off on Sept 15th. Not the best when you have a large family including two babies. If anyone sees this and cares to donate again or for the first time, I cannot THANK YOU enough.

David

The following is the original ask for those that want an explanation of what has been going on.................................

As humiliating as this is, I want to thank you all for caring and thank you most of all for helping my children.

Being a father of 5 in this position has been very difficult and stressful to say the least. While my news is bad financially and emotionally, there is also some good on the horizon – we just need a little help to get there.

To make a long story short (but I’m happy to give anyone details – just send me a message), the situation involving my mother and moving two times in six months has forced us to use up all of our savings, sell off possessions, beg for help from family, raid retirement funds, and seek government assistance. Unfortunately, we are tapped out and none of it has been enough to dig us out of the growing financial hole my mother left us in.

With our current income, we were able to keep everyone fed this month and fuel in the cars, but not much more. The good news is that multiple interviews have occurred and some other positive things are in the works that will hopefully open up more options for our family in the near future.  We just need help getting back on our feet and then we can pursue the two and five year plans we created to secure our family for a very long time.

We are about $3k short on bills every month and we are very behind. It is so hard to ask for help, but I am trying to be a proactive father to save our home, car, keep bills and credit in good standing, and keep everyone fed and mentally healthy after the devastating emotional and financial ordeal my mother put our family through.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in giving my family assistance, my wife of 9 years, my children, and I would be forever grateful. This has been a humbling and mortifying experience, and our plans will hopefully ensure that we never again face anything so dire (although trusting one’s mother shouldn’t typically obliterate you financially). We have always been the “pay it forward” type of people and promise to continue helping others once we are out of this hole.

Thank you,

David Hope

PS – My wife Amber, Ashley, Drew, Jack, Zoe and our 1 ½-year-old son, Owen cannot thank you enough.
