Bailey Bledsoe was what I consider to be my best friend at one time. We grew apart over the years, but that didn’t mean I didn’t love her or that I wanted any ill will or anything bad to happen to her! We were just at two separate points in our lives. Bailey was a bright, witty, and resilient person who overcame so much in her life. Around 2009, she survived a devastating car accident that almost took her life. She was in a coma for a great while, and after that, it left her with frontal lobe brain damage. Although it changed her, those who knew her remember the vibrant spirit she once was. Before her accident, Bailey attended Gardner-Webb University and earned her bachelor's degree, showing her determination and drive. I want to honor Bailey for the person she truly was, not just the hardships she faced.
Bailey didn’t have close family ties—she was adopted, and her relationship with her adoptive and biological families was distant. In her final days, she was surrounded by a small circle of friends and loved ones who cared deeply for her. Now, as we face the heartbreaking reality of her passing, we are left to ensure she receives the dignity she deserves.
Her service is scheduled for Monday, October 6th at 3 PM at Spencer’s Funeral Home, 824 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC. As of today, Bailey has not yet been cremated, but the funeral home has made it clear that if the cremation costs are not covered on or shortly after the service, they will be forced to dispose of her ashes. Let it be known they will still have her service, but until monies are rendered, her ashes will be kept and later disposed of. No one deserves that fate. We are raising funds to cover Bailey’s cremation so her brother Zack, her boyfriend Douglas (Doodle), and those who loved her most can keep her ashes and remember her with the respect she earned and make sure they’ll always have her memory at hand. Any and every donation is deeply appreciated, and if you prefer, you may donate directly to Spencer’s Funeral Home. Your support will help us give Bailey the farewell she deserves and ensure her memory lives on. Thank you so much for your time.
