Help get Whitley to his Son, ASAP!
This Go Fund Me is for someone that has been an absolute rock to me, in some of my hardest times (as he has been, for many of his other friends reading this) - and now he needs our help!
A LOT of you know Michael “Mike” Whitley.
And if you do, you also know he has a son Sean Whitley, that means more to him than life itself. Sean is 20 years old & lives in St. Mary’s, Ontario Canada.
In September 2019 Sean was diagnosed with a very rare & aggressive Cancer, Synovial Sarcoma, in his left lung. Sean went through many injections & steroids, along with Chemotherapy... He’d go for two weeks on, one week off - and then repeat the process.
At first, the Cancer was believed to be confined to the lower portion of his left lung, but ended up spreading over the whole lung. In January 2020, his entire left lung was removed & his parents were told he was in Remission, and he even proudly rang the bell! I remember tears of joy, watching the video on Facebook...
Now, 7 months later, during a normal routine CAT Scan, Sean has the same Cancer on his only remaining lung. 17 spots to be exact.
The Doctors have informed both Tasha (Sean’smother) & Michael that Sean is NOT a candidate for a lung transplant. And the only plan they have left - is chemotherapy & [possibly] immunotherapy. It will take at least 3-4wks before they know if he’s able to do/a candidate for the immunotherapy.
Let me go ahead and state: neither of these are cures. They are just a way of buying more time with Sean. My heart absolutely breaks for both Michael, Tasha, and every single person that loves Sean.
Due to Covid 19 - Michael has been out of steady work since March. Most Embassies are shut down, and Michael will have to wait 6 months, before he’s able to work when he arrives, and also go through the process of filing for a work visa. But he also has to go into Canada; with not only a place to live; but proof (to border control) he can support himself those first 6 months, financially.
What a weight to bare, when all you want to do, is be by your child’s side!
So we are humbly asking for your help to get Michael to Canada & by Sean’s side, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. As aparent, I know I’d want to be there, YESTERDAY!
If you know, or are friends with “Whitley” - you know he’s NEVER hesitated to help ANYONE who needed it. I can’t explain in words what an awesome soul he is, but if you know him, you already know yourself. Now let’s help him & his family, when they need us THE MOST!
