HELP Get The Fowler's Back Home

Hello, my name is June...Aka "Diego". I am fundraising for my daughter, her fiance', and their two little children, Addison and Asher. These two little gems call me "Diego". When Addie was 2 1/2-3 yrs old, we watched Dora the explorer movie repeatedly. It was her ultimate favorite! Dora and her cousin Diego made a pack to be "Best friends forever". From that moment on, I had to call Addie "Dora", and I became "Diego". I too had to pinky swear that we would be "Best friends forever"! To this day, I'm known as "Diego" to both Addie and Asher. To my other 4 sweethearts... I'm mommom! This family experienced a devasting event to their home on Sunday nite, April 30, 2023. They live in Mt. Holly, NJ. It was a miserable rainy weekend, but it was a normal Sunday night. Addie and Asher were asleep, Chris was down in the basement, and Danielle was tidying up, preparing for the work and school week ahead. A loud crash sounded and at first, they thought a tree came down on the house, but that wasn't the case. Addison ran out from the bedroom clearly shaken, and crying...The basement wall collasped! Chris was downstairs in the basement when this happened-on the opposite side of the room, standing in disbelief! The wall collasped and crumbled, leaving a large gapping separation between the foundation and the sky. He is now seeing the nights darkness from his basement. Homeowners was notified. Danielle and the kids gathered quickly, including the 2 dogs, Moosie and Rooster, and in the pouring rain they packed the car up. They were headed to a family member's home with only the cloths/pajamas on their backs.
The fire company was notified, and the street quickly filled with firetrucks, police, parametics/EMT and an ambulance. Oh how blessed we are that no one was hurt or killed!! We are so very grateful for that. (The kid's beds are on this same wall upstairs, and this could have been a lot worse). All utilities, incl'g gas, electric, and water were cut off that night-Their home was now red-tagged and no one was allowed to enter.
From 05/01-05/09, work days were missed, make shift bedrooms were made, and huge family transitions were taking place. Everyone trying to wrap our heads around this. Addie and Asher adapting, and being resilient. Our immediate families opening their hearts, and homes, trying to exhibit some "normalcy" for the kids. Asher has asked every single day to go back to mommy's house...
Phone calls have gone unaswered-On May 1st, Chris talked to Traveler's, the homeowners co., and Chris was advised this is "flood", and you don't have flood coverage-None of this will be covered. (They don't live in a flood zone). This young, first time homeowners received NO phone calls, NO advise...NOTHING...from anyone!
Their mortgage company states...Nothing they can do , but you must still pay monthy mortage even though you are DISPLACED. NO help offered...NONE! Chris and Danielle refinanced about two yrs ago, enabling them to put a new roof on the house, new siding, some new windows, and a new air conditioning system, and now paying a higher mortgage for a home they can not live in. Who will give them a loan for repairs now? The mortgage co. acted as if they have NO interest in this home! For days this house sat with now approx 1 1/2-2 ft of water in it. The basement was totally dry prior to the wall coming down. Not one person from homeowners reached out, answered calls or sent anyone to see this destruction until 05/09/23! This is their first home, and NOT one person offered them any advise, any direction, who to reach out to, or how to get any help with this situation. Family has reached out to the township, the mayor, the govenor, and FEMA too! NO ONE can help or lead us to any avenues for help! How does one pick themselves up from this? How do you continue to pay your nomal monthly bills, and your mortgage and pay for the repairs of this horrible event, and still pay to live elsewhere? It is now May 12th, and Chris just recieved a verbal statement that homeowners will not cover any of this, but they are still waiting on the engineer's paperwork. This is including all of the smaller things and contents of the basement to include washer, dryer, furnace...etc.
There will be many missed days from work when trying to clean out the basement, and all the contents even before the "real work" begins. This will take our village and then some!!
That basement was were many of the family's memories were made. It's the "man-cave", the "kid-cave", and where everyone liked to hang out on a Friday nite! The kids rode their bikes, roller-bladeded, rode scooters and big-wheels down there. Their toys, and Ashie's battery operated green tractor was driven and parked down there. They played darts (kiddie), corn-hole and mini golf was set up down there. There was a section for family TV and computer time. Moosie and Rooster loved to do family time as well down there. Countless hours, day after day were spent making great memories in the "Fowler Cave". This was their "Happy Place"!
So to our family and friends near and far, this is where we need YOUR help...this is where your donations will be spent. We will keep EVERYONE abreast of our progress on this journey. It takes more than "Our Village" so please be a part of our story, and let's get this beautiful family back home! Pls also send your prayers, and share "Our Story" with everyone near and far...And again, we thank you for your kindness and your generosity at this most difficult time!

Love,
Diego
