Following a recent break-in at Kilcoy Motocross Club, we are now faced with the task of rebuilding, repairing and restoring our club so we can return it to a safe and operational condition.
The theft of copper and the damage caused during the break-in was the straw that broke the camel’s back for a club that has already been working through significant challenges behind the scenes.
Kilcoy Motocross Club has been part of our community for more than 40 years. It is more than a track. It is a place where families come together, kids learn, friendships are made and generations of riders have grown up in the sport.
Our club also contributes to the wider Kilcoy community.
Throughout the year, Kilcoy MX attracts riders and their families from across Queensland, around Australia and, at times, internationally. Race weekends bring visitors into our town, with families staying locally, eating locally, shopping locally and experiencing everything our community has to offer.
For a small town, having a community sporting facility capable of attracting visitors from such a wide area is something worth protecting.
We are working hard to rebuild the club for the remainder of 2026 and, importantly, establish a strong and sustainable foundation for the 2027 season.
To do that, we need your help.
Funds raised through this appeal will be used for the essential repairs, maintenance, safety works, equipment and improvements required to restore and operate Kilcoy Motocross Club and its facilities for the benefit of our members, riders, families, volunteers and the wider community.
So far, we have identified the following areas requiring support:
* Maintenance and repairs to track machinery and club equipment
* Plumbing repairs and works
* Electrical works
* Canteen restocking and operational supplies
* Track repairs and maintenance
* Toilet and shower repairs
* Replacement of stolen septic pump
* Locksmith services and securing club facilities
* Security upgrades and improvements
* PA system repairs and updates
* Repair or replacement of damaged infrastructure
* General clean-up and site maintenance
* Equipment and supplies required to operate the club
* Works required to prepare the facilities and track for future race days and community events
* Other necessary repairs, maintenance, safety or operational costs identified as we continue rebuilding
And that is only the beginning.
We are working through the club’s financial position and the work required to get Kilcoy MX back on its feet to host our community again.
As the rebuilding process continues, priorities may change as urgent repairs, safety requirements and operational needs are identified. Funds will therefore be applied to the club’s community sporting purposes and the works required to restore, maintain and operate the facility.
If the appeal raises more funds than are required for any particular repair or item listed above, remaining funds will be directed towards other necessary club repairs, maintenance, safety, equipment, facility improvements or operational requirements consistent with the purpose of this appeal.
We know times are tough, and we don’t take asking for help lightly.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us move one step closer to getting the club back up and running.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser, tagging a mate or simply helping us spread the word can be just as valuable.
This club belongs to its members and its community.
With the support of our riders, families, volunteers, local businesses and the wider motocross community, we hope we can rebuild what has been damaged, address the work that has been needed for some time and create a stronger, safer and more sustainable future for Kilcoy MX.
We have work to do, and we’re ready to get stuck in.
Thank you to everyone who has already reached out, offered their time, donated, shared our updates or simply asked how they can help.
Let’s get Kilcoy MX back on track.
