Please help get Jackie & her Kids Get into a Home

Donation protected
I am a Realtor and received a call last Friday that broke my heart. My sweet client, Jacqueline (aka Jackie) and her family, are days away from being homeless. She is a single mother of her two grandchildren, which she adopted at birth. Her son will be a senior in high school and her daughter will be in middle school. Jackie also has her adult son living with her. He is recovering from ear cancer.  All four of them are currently residing in a single room in a local hotel.

I would love to help them find a place to call home asap. As a previous single mother myself, this is not the ideal situation.  At the current time, she is the sole provider. Her son can't currently work.

All donations will be used to ensure this family can have a place to call home.  Where each person in the family could have their own room.  A year's worth of rent, security deposit, medical bills, food, and clothing). This would be such a blessing for this struggling family. Any amount would certainly help. I, in the meantime, am doing all that I can to find them a landlord who is willing to let them live at their property. If you know of anybody, please let me know.

Here is her story in her own words:

My name is Jacqueline Florence Gibson. I am Seventy-three years old, Retired, Single, and the Mother of Five Children ages 11 to 53.

I was blessed to be born into a Wonderful Christian Family in an Environment Full of Love and Support. In High School, I was on the Student Council and Yearbook Staff. I played Field Hockey and Softball.

I was inducted into the National Honor Society and Graduated 12th in a Class of almost 300 students.

I was the first woman to be accepted into the College of Architecture at the University of Illinois. I was a member of the FAA (Future Architects of America).

My first husband and I were married 24 years until he passed away from cancer.  We lived overseas where he worked on top-secret government communications installations. We had three children together. After returning to Texas to live and work, I was employed by Fluor Engineers and Constructors as an Electrical and Instrumentation Designer and eventually a Supervisor.

After my Husband's death, I married a friend of the family who always appeared kind, caring, and honest. It didn't take long for me to notice some red flags popping up. He was devious, manipulative, abusive, an alcoholic, and a sexual deviant. Our marriage always appeared to be perfect to others, but it was pure hell.

After over 20+ years together I found respect and honor with a Christian friend of 14 years. We would meet about twice a week for lunch and conversation. We fell deeply in love and I told my husband that my heart belonged to someone else. In 2015 my friend and I were going away for a couple of days. When he picked me up, my husband came up behind me, put a gun to my head and shot me execution-style and murdered my friend.

I was blessed to have survived the shooting and after an extensive time in the ICU at Memorial Hermann Hospital Shock and Trauma Center.  I returned home. I am about 90% Blind in my right eye but otherwise healthy.

I adopted 2 of my Grandchildren at their births. My daughter is 11 and going to Junior High School in the Fall and the son is 17 and will be a Senior. Meanwhile, my firstborn son developed ear cancer and had successful surgery followed by radiation treatment. He needs to have his ear rebuilt from a skin graft.  He also developed a severe blood clot in his right thigh.

In 2011, my ex-husband and I took out a reverse mortgage for major home repairs.  During this, the title company forgot to pay the school taxes. After 3 and 1/2 years,  the mortgage company sent us a bill for $64,000.00. This shocked me.  We couldn't pay it. The mortgage company threatened to foreclose, but I retained an attorney after my return home from ICU. We fought the foreclosure. As it turned out, there was only a 3-year Statute of Limitations on the Title Company but we still fought. During the trial in 2019,  the Judge ruled for mediation. I received a Small Settlement in return for the house. The return happened on March 29, 2021!

The movers packed up, moved, and stored all of our belongings for almost $8,000.00. We are now living in a hotel and that is eating up what I have left of the settlement. I need a home in 77494 zip code with hopefully 4 bedrooms. I need to get my daughter registered for Junior High School.

I am about 3 weeks away from being homeless. I desperately need help to acquire a rent house, get Our belongings out of storage and stay here until that happens.
BTW.....my ex-husband is in prison for the rest of his life!

Sincerely
Jacqueline Florence Gibson
