First of all, thank you for reading this.
We want to update you on our adopted daughter, Shiloh, and her progress since she arrived here to Washington state on December 1st of 2016.
She flew back with pneumonia and RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) and was hospitalized a day after we arrived home to heal and receive antibiotics. She did well, and after that episode, hit the ground running! She started school in January, had open heart surgery in April, and is now in school again!!! She did amazing with her heart procedure, and the doctors were blown away at her healing and the little amount of time it took her to bounce back! She is affectionate and tender and her two favorite foods are tacos and pizza! She actually makes the cutest noises while eating both...pure bliss. She loves her brother and sisters and it feels as if she has been here so much longer than 10 months! We are so blessed by all of your love and support...without it, none of this would have been possible. Thank you from all of us!
Now...the new news....! We are at it again! Our hearts have fallen in love with a little 2 year old boy, also from China, and we are now fighting to bring him home to be a part of our family! He was abandoned at 8 days old and was diagnosed with an HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy). We do not know the severity of this condition, and will not, until we bring him home and our physicians examine him. We know that this is God's plan for our family and no matter what lies ahead as far as his medical journey, we are not afraid. We are just excited to call him ours, and have him here safe and sound. Our other children are also very excited to have another little brother, and talk about him often!
We just received final approval of our homestudy and are now hitting the ground running to get our dossier finished and raise the funds we need to bring him home! Please join us in any way God places on your heart. We have only been able to walk this journey because of the amazing community that surrounds us! We have been blessed again and again by all the hidden gifts that adoption has had for our friends and family. God is so amazing and we look forward to meeting our Samuel and putting our arms around him for the first time!
Bless you all!
