Help get Fairfield Boxing Club on the road!

Hello!

My name is Annabel and I am one of the coaches and Directors of Fairfield Boxing Club & S.I.T.H.I C.I.C. Me and my husband Scott (Director and Head Coach) created our club in the throes of the 2020 pandemic - you can read more about our journey here: www.fairfieldboxingclub.com.

In the last year, we have grown significantly as a club, especially with our younger boxers and have had fantastic opportunties to showcase their work on away shows in Derby, Nottingham, Stoke, Warrington, Wigan, Leeds, Stockport and Preston. The growing number of juniors securing bouts has meant we have had to rely on parents and supporters to make the trips with us, often with extra passengers, increasing everyone's costs and having to take two cars ourselves. At most venues, boxers and coaches are allowed in around an hour or so befroe the general public, which also means that parents and supporters have to wait in car parks and in the local area for some time before coming into the venues. In the depths of winter, this is not much fun!

We are inviting people to make a donation, however small, whatever they can afford, to help raise money so we can purchase an 8 seater van for the club. This would enable us to transport some of our youngsters to and from their competitions safely and timely and without putting unnecessary pressure on parents and supporters. It would also help with the day to day transportation of our members, who we regularly pick up and drop off when they need to attend training, but family circumstances mean that it is difficult.

Another element we would love to reinstate is our Wellbeing Walk, which we aimed to facilitate once a month, but that some members could not attend as they were not able to drive to get to the meeting area.

Our future plans include becoming affiliated with England Boxing and aiming to compete in the ABAs, whereby we would be travelling all over the country. Currently, we have just recently established links with a gym in Newcastle where there may be an opportunity to fight on one of their shows. Another two hour trip further north!

We will take our boxers anywhere they have an opportunity to fight, but this would make life that little bit easier. We have built a fantastic community and would love to be able to help our families that little bit more.
