Hi everyone,
My name is Toni, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my dad, George, a hardworking man whose life changed in an instant.
My dad has always found joy and purpose in restoring cars. His workshop was more than a garage it was where he spent his days rebuilding engines, restoring classic vehicles, and connecting with a passion. It was his happy place.
But this year, everything was taken from him. A fire broke out in the neighboring unit, spreading into his workshop that he shared with a friend. In a matter of hours, he lost his workshop and all of his equipment. His project car, that he dedicated over 9 years of his life to. It was complete, just waiting for registration papers, and had just been appraised at $39K. The brand new engine he had built for his daily truck, irreplaceable family heirlooms, personal scuba diving gear, and tools he spent a lifetime collecting, all gone.
We thought the worst had already happened, but heartbreak doesn’t always stop when you think it should. Recently someone broke into his truck right outside his home, stole the little tools he had left, and tried to take the truck itself. They damaged it so badly that the insurance had to total it out. Now he has no truck, no tools, and no workshop to rebuild what he lost.
And the hardest part to watch? He lost his passion.
The man who once came alive under the hood of a car is now truck-less, tool-less, and deeply discouraged. I just want him to feel hopeful again.
My goal is to hopefully rekindle the passion that once gave him so much purpose. I can't bring back all the items he lost, but maybe I can give him some hope. Even the smallest donation moves him a step closer to recovering what was lost. And if you can’t donate, sharing this means more than you know.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping us remind him that people still show up for each other.
*** For those who may ask, insurance on the shop is under his friend. The owner of the shop knew about the chemicals being used next door and did nothing to stop it. They have a valid case, but because my dad is not the insured, he may never see the money. This is my way of trying to get him something. ***
