Help George and Jen Flush Their Troubles Away (Literally!)

This holiday season, I’m determined to give my brother and sister-in-law the ultimate gift of comfort, sustainability, and dignity: an EcoJohn Incinerating Toilet—and I need your help to make it happen!
For many years, my brother and sister-in-law lived in Massachusetts, working hard, living humbly, residing in their camper alongside their beloved menagerie of animals, and making the most of what they had. In recent years, I’d been nudging (okay, maybe pestering) them to move here to Asheville, hoping they could lend a hand with my business and enjoy life with me in this beautiful mountain town. Having built a life here myself over the last decade, I talked Asheville up a lot, advertising it as a climate haven, among other things. But life, as it tends to, had other plans.
In April, life’s twists and turns finally made the timing right. They packed up their camper, gathered their furry and feathered family, said goodbye to their home of 15 years, and made the big leap. They arrived here with hope and determination, ready to start fresh and build a new chapter—and they got settled just in time for Hurricane Helene to barrel through and turn all our worlds upside down, a mere five months after making their move.
But instead of letting the disaster knock them down, they stepped up, diving into relief efforts immediately and wholeheartedly. They conducted wellness checks, patched roofs, removed fallen trees, and distributed essentials to their new neighbors. When I was stranded out of town and the cell towers were down, they were the first to get a hold of me with updates. They showed their love and dedication to the place they now call home, proving that this community isn’t just where they are currently living—it’s where they belong.
Now, they need a little help themselves. Living in their camper on a friend’s land, they’re making do—but their toilet situation is a significant problem. It’s unsanitary, inconvenient, and leaves my brother stuck with the regular, undignified chore of relocating their waste. It's pretty crappy!
This Christmas, they don’t need any more "crap"—they just need a better solution for their crap. And that’s exactly what the EcoJohn Incinerating Toilet provides. This eco-friendly marvel burns waste into sterile ash without the need for plumbing or septic systems. We learned from Helene just how unreliable flush toilets can be and how precious water is. This system operates independently of water and infrastructure, making it not only practical but sustainable. Traditional flush toilets waste thousands of gallons of water annually—but the EcoJohn eliminates that entirely, making it ideal for their off-grid lifestyle.
Here’s where I need your help: George and Jen don’t believe they have enough friends or enough of a foothold in this community to make crowdfunding something like this possible. But I wholeheartedly disagree—and I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is to prove it. I’ve decided to cover the entire cost of this purchase on my personal credit card because I know how deeply loved they are by friends, family, and even kind-hearted strangers near and far.
After Helene, they showed up for their new neighbors in every way they could—now it’s their turn to see that same kind of care reflected back at them. I know this community has the heart to come together and show them they belong and are just as deserving of kindness and support as anyone else. Let’s make this happen!
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to make an impact this holiday season, please consider contributing to this fund. Your generosity will help give my family the comfort and dignity they so deeply deserve. And if you were planning to gift me something this holiday season, I’d love for you to redirect those funds here instead.
Thank you for being part of this quirky but meaningful mission. Together, we can show them the love, support, and kindness that makes Asheville so special. Let’s spread joy and sustainability this season—one flush at a time. ✨
