Help Geani and George be together forever
Donation protected
Al and I befriended a young married woman named Geani who came from Brazil a few years back. Her son George was born in Canada. Soon after she arrived, the child’s father left her and re-married a Canadian. She has no family here, no health insurance, no welfare and no social benefits because she is on a temporary residence permit. She has survived with the support of the Food Bank and the kindness of Christian landlords willing to accommodate her. George is now eight years old and has autism. A survivor of domestic abuse, Geani is able to hold a part-time job but cannot take on more right now because of the serious needs of her son and her own health issues.
She is constantly renewing her temporary residency and work permits but does not have the financial means to push her permanent residency application through because she is in arrears. The lawyer is charging less than half his normal rate to help her along in her application. Over many years, we have witnessed a strong bond between Geani and George that makes a difference in his life. She lives in fear that she will not be able to take care of her son long term. She needs a miracle. Will you help us fundraise to cover the costs she will need to pay the legal fees for the permits she needs to become a permanent resident? A devoted mom, a conscientious worker and dear friend, we need help to ensure Geani can be here for George as he struggles with autism and growing up. Your contribution brings them both hope!
