My name is Osama AbuTaima and I am from the city of Khan Younis in Gaza. I left Gaza in 2022 and moved abroad to continue my studies and since October 7 I have watched my family endure countless horrors from afar. There have been days where I could not get in touch with them and I wondered if they were still alive. Before October 7, my family and I lived a vibrant life in Gaza, even though we experienced significant hardships throughout our lives due to the blockade and periods of bombing that took place every few years. I want to tell you more about my family because I need your help to evacuate 10 of my relatives and save their lives.
Like many Palestinian families, we are large. I am one of nine children--we are 8 brothers and 1 sister. Although we grew up in Khan Younis, our family is actually originally from Beersheba. In 1948 my grandparents were forced to leave their homes and ended up in Gaza.
Before October 7, my whole family lived in the same area. Today, all of my family are separated, living in tents in Mawasi, Rafah, and Khan Younis. All of our homes are completely destroyed and every day is a struggle for them to get food and water and have their basic needs met. Every now and then I receive a few pictures of my family and I can hardly recognize them.
Despite this, most of my family members do not want to leave Gaza. It is our home and what we want most is to live in dignity, peace, and freedom on our own land. However, right now, nowhere in Gaza is safe. My brother Hamdan and his wife Hanna decided months ago that they wanted to evacuate. They have three young children, including two daughters who are deaf and they felt they needed to leave in order to get their children the help they need.
With the support of individuals outside Gaza, I was able to raise enough money for the evacuation of my brother Hamdan, his wife Hanna, and their three children. I used the funds to pay the fees for them to evacuate and then we waited for their names to be called. You see, there are so many people trying to evacuate from Gaza right now, that even after you pay the evacuation fee, it can take a month or more to receive permission to leave. My mom and dad, and the rest of my family members still refused to consider evacuating. It was hard for me to accept this, but I at least felt a little hope thinking that my brother and his family would get out soon. Unfortunately, as we waited for Hamdan’s family’s names to be called, only 12 days after I paid their evacuation fees, Israel invaded Rafah and they had to flee the tent they had been living in and move again, for the umpteenth time.
Since then I have watched a fire engulf tents in Rafah and watched videos of 200+ Palestinians killed while sheltering in a UN school. These people could be my family. Everyday that my family remains in Gaza they are in danger. Finally, my mother and father have agreed to evacuate, along with my younger brother Mustafa and two of my nephews, Amir and Mohamed, who are in the middle of their university studies. While I have raised some money for Hamdan’s family, I now need to raise enough to evacuate 5 more members of my family.
Please help me evacuate my family to safety in Egypt. I am already living as an immigrant in another country, trying to support myself. And now it feels I am the only person in the family able to help raise the money to save my family before it’s too late.

This family includes a father and mother suffering from multiple illnesses, including Hamdan's family with two deaf daughters suffering from heavy hearing loss who require special care and hearing aid maintenance unavailable in Gaza due to the siege, and three sons, Mustafa, Amir, and Mohammed.
They have already endured numerous displacements due to heavy bombardments and air strikes, living in constant fear for their lives. This war has taken a heavy toll on their physical and mental well-being. They already lost everything they have including their home which is completely destroyed .
Our Urgent Plea: We are urgently raising funds to evacuate this family to safety in Egypt. Your donation will help them: * Secure emergency evacuation to Egypt. * Find safe and secure housing in Egypt. * Access proper medical care for the parents' illnesses. * Obtain essential hearing aid maintenance for the deaf daughters. * Allow the sons to continue their education in a safe environment.

My father has inflammation in his leg due to diabetes. Sorry, the situation is very difficult in the displacement tent. The reason is that there is no full medical care.
