Help Gayathri and Her Girls Honor Barath's Memory

Remembering Barath Durairaju; Supporting Gayathri and Her Daughters

Dear friends, family, and compassionate community,

In the quiet community of Knoxville, Tennessee, Gayathri Jeyagopi and her late husband, Barath Durairaju, built a life filled with love, resilience, and unwavering support for one another. Barath, a devoted family man and compassionate soul, tragically passed away on September 1, 2025, leaving behind Gayathri and their two adored daughters. This GoFundMe campaign is dedicated to honoring Barath's memory by providing financial stability for Gayathri and the girls during this heartbreaking time.

Gayathri first met Barath 16 years ago, and they shared 15 beautiful years of marriage. When Gayathri received a promising career opportunity in the United States, Barath encouraged her to pursue it without hesitation. He left behind his established career as an occupational therapist with the NHS in the UK, where he spent 10 years working in general medicine and elderly care across various hospitals.

As a father, Barath was loving and devoted to their daughters. In 2019, when their second daughter, Laya, was born, Gayathri faced complications and required emergency care in the first week postpartum. With no family nearby to help, Barath shouldered the responsibility of caring for both Gayathri and their newborn with tenderness and dedication.

His passing on September 1, 2025, left an irreplaceable void in Gayathri's life and the lives of their daughters. As a single mother now navigating grief, medical expenses from Barath's treatments, funeral costs, and the ongoing needs of raising two young girls, Gayathri faces immense financial strain. The funds raised will help cover these immediate costs, support the daughters' education and well-being, and provide Gayathri with the stability to rebuild.

We are aiming to raise $150,000 to ensure Gayathri and her daughters can honor Barath's legacy without the added burden of financial hardship. Every donation, no matter the size, brings comfort and hope during this difficult time. If you'd like to share memories or offer additional support, please reach out—Gayathri welcomes the community's kindness.

Thank you for standing with Gayathri and her family. Your generosity will make a lasting difference.

Update, 09/10/2025: Funeral was conducted on 9/8/2025. Gayathri and her girls appreciate all the help that has poured in via your donations. Please share forward.
