We are trying to raise funds for Gary's funeral costs. Gary is survived by his 3 kids and wife. He was a dedicated father and husband. Though Gary didn't always do things the right way, he was very good at providing for his family. He worked as an operator in the local 3, and his desire to work to keep food on the table made it so that Sondra, his wife, did not have to work. He also had four grandbabies that he adored. Although most grandparents love their grandchildren, with Gary, it was a lot different. To Gary, his grandkids were the world, and no matter what obstacle got in his way in life, he would move heaven and earth to help them and express how much he truly loved them. Gary was a strong man in his ways, stubborn, and also the type to never say, 'I'm proud of you, son.' It was more his actions that would show you that he was proud. He was diagnosed with kidney cancer on December 8th, right after he and Sondra bought a house together. He had dreams to fix up the house, but the dreams were quickly met with hardship. He put up a great fight, but no matter how hard he or the doctors tried to fight off the cancer, it always seemed to get the best of him. He unfortunately passed away at 4 pm on November 13th. His life insurance policy through the union will not pay out because it was not an on-the-job injury. The cost of the funeral is expensive, and if there is one thing we all can take away from this, it is that no matter how great life seems to be going, it can be taken away in the blink of an eye. We all need to make sure that we have our ducks in a row and also make sure you have the ones you leave behind taken care of.
Any donation helps; even a dollar would help. We want to send him off and take care of him like he did for us for so many years. Thank you for the love and support that we have gotten.
