Help Gifted Child Foundation Primary School to Grow

About the project

This project is led by Macklean (who is the founder of Uganda Gifted Child Foundation) and Laurent Caparros (a sponsor and consultant for the foundation) in order to build a primary school, named Galileo, that was created for orphaned childen in her community.

The construction has already started and is at an advanced stage (see photo)

Macklean comes from a very modest background in the community of Rushaga, Uganda. It is located at the bottom of the mountain where the famous mountain gorillas are found (a specie endemic to this mountain range) and which are possible to observe in their natural environment.

At the age of 14, she was struggling to pay her own school fees, receiving no support.

Thanks to her determination, she will achieve this on her own by financing her studies through the sales of artisanal products that she will make.

Once her studies are finished, she will decide to put her experience and her determination to the service of other disadvantaged children and will make it her life project.

Today she is happy and proud to have succeeded in improving the lives of these children and the women in her community. This is thanks to the activity of her craftshop, as well as donations made by various people (tourists, local personalities)

However, her goal is to provite access to quality education to every under priviledged child in her community.

This project was launched in 2020 by helping 7 children pay their school fees. This number has since increased to reach 105 children in 2023.

And it continues to grow.

This requires us to now group these children together in the same school because there are no longer any infrastructure capable to accomodate the need.

Until now, income from crafts and donations made it possible to purchase 2 acres of land and begin building the school. But in order to complete the construction, we are still missing 20 000€.

Every donation from you has the potential to help a child get education.

Every School holiday, we train our project children hand skills to prepare them for future employment.

In Uganda the children are going back to school and we need you to support us with whatever you can to help the children to study well, we need school supplies like books, pencil, pens and school fees, each child pays a tuition of 50€ per term,

A term is made up of 3 months and in Uganda's education system we have 3 terms in a year with a 3 week school holiday at the end of every term.

Our major goal is to help vulnerable children to get education by providing school fees and other requirements.

We depends on your donation to raise money for school tuition and I'm here to appeal for your support to enable us provide tuition for over 135 needy child under our project.

You can choose to donate 16€ monthly for 3 months and pay fees for one child in a term.

You can also pay 150€ once a year and pay fees for one child for 3 terms.

Dear Donors I want to first thank you and appreciate each one of you from the bottom of my heart thank you so much for generously supporting us to achieve our goal of starting a primary school that majorly aims at helping the Orphaned and vulnerable children to get free access to education for a better future in Uganda.

The school opened on 10th-02-2025, we have spend one week and we have so far registered 30 children, we have over 100 children stranded in Rushaga community who are supposed to be studying from our school but because our Dormitory/hostel haven't been finished due to lack of enough money, we are struggling to bring them to start the term with others because they're supposed to be staying at school since they come from far away from where we built our school.

We are continuing with the construction of the school to provide a safe learning environment for the children.

*We appeal to you* to make a donation today to help us get the following;

* Food to keep feeding the children daily.

* We need essential teaching scholastic materials like text books, papers among others

* We need a water tank to help us collect rainwater as the only nearby source of water we have around the school

* We need Solar system this is the only source of power we have access too.

Every little, small or big donation matters a lot and helps us to keep running our school, we are still in our beginning stages and we mainly depend on your donation.

*There has been a name change of our school from GALILEO PRIMARY SCHOOL to Gifted Child Foundation Primary School* this was a decision reached upon by different stake holders to have a name that reflects with the values of our charity organizations which is Uganda Gifted Child Foundation that was established to help orphaned and vulnerable children to live a better life through having access to free education.

We have also started supporting children with special needs to access education from our school.
