Help Gabriel Greaves Share First Nations Stories

My name is Gabriel A. Greaves. I am a teacher/missionary called to the arenas of education, as I am a trained historian in the field of African, Afro-Indigenous and African Diaspora Studies.

In 2023, God opened up the amazing opportunity for me to live out the Gospel of Jesus as I arrived for the first time in the South Pacific & Australia to minister with leaders/communities from around the world. I am thankful for doors to open up once again for me to return this July (12th-28th). Along the way I will stop in other places along the way as I minister, and collect stories/experiences of First Nations communities that are shared with me so others in the church know how to be of service to them in Christ.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are Australia's Indigenous peoples. They are the first peoples of Australia, being present for thousands of years before colonization. On this ministry trip, I will connect with First Nations leaders I've worked with at the NAIITS Symposium (formerly known as North American Institute for Indigenous Theological Studies) and will learn how to encourage others in this amazing land.

Moreover, I'll be traveling to several spaces to support local education centers, support First Nations artwork spaces and learn from elders and other leaders when it comes to servant evangelism, encouraging and mapping their stories. Additionally, as a movement journalist, I will do further research on their civil rights history and the ways that the Black Freedom struggle paralleled their own experiences and how their stories continue onward. There is also an opportunity for me to go and connect with other nations in Southeast Asia during this trip and learn more!

As someone who is Afro-Indigenous and loves community service, I want churches to understand what communities go through. Understanding the unique histories of First Nations is crucial because learning from them helps the mission of Jesus to be better represented across the world. I would love to partner with all of you to make this a powerful time.

While I am grateful for the opportunity, funding for these trips is often very tight and it has largely been self-funded. It's important to come alongside others who are your friends and family in these matters and be willing to ask for prayers and help.

As the costs for spaces I’m staying in and being mobile will be around $2500, I am requesting/believing for at least 80 people who are able/willing to donate at least $30 each. I am also believing in 50 friends/family who would be willing to give at least $50 each

If anyone wishes to sow less or more, that’s more than appreciated. Most importantly, I need your prayer support and coverage to ensure that others on this ministry trip are greatly encouraged in the work done there.
