Help G4 Staff Get Back on Their Feet
Made this because I care about the people I work with more than any material thing inside the building or the building itself. And while I am grateful to be working now, I'd be lying if I didn't say this year wasn't met with hardship following the aftermath of the closure of G4 almost a year ago to this day.
Union Strikes and mass layoffs in several industries threatened many of my friends and colleagues job security and financial well-being. Many of them, like myself, scrapped to make ends meet. Some just getting jobs, or getting short-term work here and there barely getting by.
Listening and observing many of the staff there, I saw how proud they were of what we were able to accomplish with such scrappy teams. In that same vein, I heard their frustrations. They deserve to be back on their feet. I love G4. I grew up watching X-Play and Attack of the Show. My story is very similar to a lot of the other folks who worked there. We truly never stopped playing.
The starting amount is what was originally requested to preserve the controller, which by the way, does serve historical importance and is in the Guinness Book of World Records deservedly. The person that created it, whom I also met, is an amazingly talented person. But some how, I feel like he would understand why I feel compelled to make this.
All funds garnered will be evenly distributed between every G4 employee who needs it. We can discuss the appropriate payment option whether it be Venmo, CashApp, or Paypal.
