Help Furnish Hope to DC Families in Need

FurnishHopeDC opened on May 1st, 2021 to help provide furniture and basic household necessities to community members living in Ward 8 -- Washington, DC's most under-resourced community. We recently furnished our 100th home for a family in need -- in under 12 weeks!

FurnishHopeDC is the only organization in DC that provides families in need the opportunity to choose new and gently used furniture and basic household items -- and have the furniture delivered to their home -- all at no cost to them.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PURCHASE A SECOND TRUCK SO WE CAN EXPAND OUR ABILITY TO FURNISH HOPE!

Other great area organizations, like A Wider Circle in Maryland, currently have up to a year long wait list for families to receive furniture, and A Wider Circle does not deliver furniture. The majority of FurnishHopeDC's families are unable to borrow a truck and cannot afford to pay to rent one to get their furniture to their home. So, FurnishHopeDC's free furniture delivery service makes our organization especially unique and enables us to truly deliver hope!

In order to continue to meet the delivery needs of our growing client list, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Most of our deliveries since May have been done with only one truck, belonging to FurnishHopeDC's founder, Niki Mock.

Diesal, who helps FurnishHopeDC make deliveries, recently lost his broken-for-the-last-time truck, so we desperately need another truck
in order to keep helping families obtain good quality, free furniture!

Every penny raised in this GoFundMe campaign will go directly towards the purchase of a used truck in good condition. Diesal is a work horse with an incredible work ethic who can fix almost anything and really wants to help the members of his community. Even though he has very little -- he works for FurnishHopeDC on a freelance basis, helping dozens of families each week.
