Dear community, as you are all aware small businesses are amongst those most effected by the current pandemic and we too are no different. When the pandemic hit us in March we like everyone else has to close up the hall and have had no income as a result since then. . Unfortunately the bills still need payment ESB. Gas, Insurance, yearly Audit, etc and of course our credit union loan. We have negotiated that our loan is now interest only but could do that for a max of six months and that will end next month so with no income we have no money to service our debt hence this plea to you the community of Straffan . We usually had our Car Boot Sales to finance our loan and our rental income financed the running of the hall . With the current social distancing requirement we do not know if we will be able to host any car boot sales this year and no rental income means we have now almost spent what we had in the bank! The hall is only managed by the committee in place but is owned by you the community and we are asking you to donate whatever little you can.
We are setting a fundraising target of €10,000which would allow us to clear our loan and allow us to pay all our bills to the end of this year. We are hoping that classes will restart in September under the new “normal” guidelines of social distancing, sanitisation etc
We are asking you to Spread the work amongst all your friends and relatives world wide and would ask that if you contiribute a small amount we would be delighted to borrow a slogan from a large business “every little helps”.
Thank you for reading :)
