Toronto Klezmer Society's Summer Klezmer Series fundraiser!

The Toronto Klezmer Society is thrilled to announce the return of our third annual EPIC Summer Klezmer Series—an event that celebrates the rich, vibrant tradition of Jewish klezmer music in the heart of Toronto.

Over the course of the summer months, from June-August, we host two performances a month on the first and last Wednesdays from 6:00-8:30pm, with two sets of music from local and out-of-town musicians. If they come from out of town, we cover their travel fare and accommodations.

Past performers and presenters at Toronto Klezmer Society events have included Canadian talent such as Oktopus, Eric Stein's Beyond the Pale, Duo Zoe Aqua and Dan Thurgard, Ariane Morin's Klezmer Brass, Juno nominee Noam Lemish and Jacob Gorzhaltsan, Jossee Macinnes's Zemer Tov and many more stellar Klezmer musicians.

Since 2017, we’ve been proud to be the only Jewish klezmer music outlet in the city, providing a platform for talented Canadian musicians to share their art and for our community to come together to experience something truly special. The EPIC Summer Klezmer Series, hosted at the beloved Emmet Ray, is an event unlike any other—one that continues to bring together music lovers from all walks of life, cultural enthusiasts, and the Jewish community for Jewish music in the downtown area.

This year, we need your help to make it happen. All funds raised through this campaign will go directly to the musicians who make this event so extraordinary. Our goal is to pay each performer a fair minimum of $200.00 per person for their time and talent, with a maximum of 4 musicians per band.

While we do charge admission to our events, we want to ensure that the musicians who bring these incredible sounds to life are compensated with the respect they deserve. Your contribution will give us the confidence to know that we can pay our artists a fair wage and continue to bring the best of klezmer music to Toronto.
