Help Fund the 2025 CareFreeBlackGirl CookOut Tour

Hey y’all, it’s QUANNA, founder of CareFreeBlackGirl!

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years — whether you’ve pulled up to a CookOut, shared a post, donated, or just believed in the vision. Your love and energy have made CareFreeBlackGirl what it is today — a community, a movement, and a safe space for Black femmes to be loud, joyful, and seen.

As we look ahead to 2025-2026, we’re dreaming bigger than ever. The CareFreeBlackGirl CookOut Tour is back — and we want to enhance the experience for everyone. That means more food, more activations, more community programming, and keeping vendor and attendee costs low, so that our spaces stay accessible and fun for everyone.

But to make that happen — we need your help.

We’re launching this GoFundMe with a goal of $20,000 to help cover overhead expenses like venue costs, staffing, logistics, and food. In the past, we’ve been proud to self-fund much of the tour, with help from our amazing community and a few sponsors. But this year, things are a little different.

Due to major rollbacks in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, we’ve lost some of the funding and venue partnerships we previously relied on. The costs to host these events have gone up — and sponsorship is not as consistent as it once was. Instead of shrinking our vision, we’re asking our community to rally behind us and help us grow.

Your donation will help us bring the CookOut to these amazing cities:

• Detroit

• DMV (Washington, D.C./Maryland/Virginia)

• Philadelphia

• New York City

• And — fingers crossed — Essence Festival in New Orleans! We want to use this time to promote CareFreeBlackGirl and connect with more brands

We want to make 2025 and 2026 even bigger and better, and this fundraiser is our first step toward long-term sustainability — where we don’t have to depend solely on sponsorships to make our events thrive. Every dollar brings us closer to creating spaces where Black femmes feel empowered, loved, and celebrated.
