Help Fund my Coaching Trip to Malawi

My name is Scarlett, I am 18 years old and I’m a student. I’m currently. In my 2nd year studying my HND in Sport Coaching and Development at borders college in Galashiels. After the summer I will be moving to Cardiff to complete my degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

I am a competitive rugby player but my true passion is for coaching. I have coached rugby since I was 12 yrs old, completing a number of coaching and refereeing courses in my spare time throughout high school. I have coached a variety of age groups, both mixed and single gender teams. I currently work as a community coach for the SRU, coaching girls evolution series and regional u16/18 events.

I am raising funds to go to Malawi in Africa in July this year. I am keen to broaden my coaching experience to bring the very best to whomever I coach. I hope to learn different styles of coaching from other cultures whilst bringing a little of mine to them. I am passionate about the development of rugby for women and girls and am keen to learn how they approach this in other countries.

I hope to raise 1,500 to contribute towards travelling and living costs whilst out there.

This a voluntary position and I will receive no payment for the work I do there.
