Hello all I’m Audrey Neil’s mom... want to share our story and send out for help.. On May 17th Neil, my son, lost functions on his fingers... later that night lost function is his left leg... so we rushed to the ER.. From there imidiatly sent to the University of Iowa children hospital where we was admitted... got put on steroids, then done Plasmapheresis which they only did three days. His doctors diagnosed Neil with acute flaccid myelitis...which affects the spinal cord called gray matter and this can cause the muscles and nerves very weak.. which is polio like.. so after being diagnosed university wanted us to move hospitals to st Luke’s where he can continue with adequate physical therapy... it’s been a month.. they still say we gonna be here awhile.. Neil can draw now but hands still not completely recovered and he moves his leg only by moving his hip with supervision of the physical therapist.. we’re not sure how much longer we’re gonna be here but I’m making this go fund me page asking for help as I am staying with my son at the hospital and not working because my son is restricted with doing even everyday things by himself and need someone to stay with him.. so reaching out asking for help while in helping my son.. anything helps thanks so much and lots of prayers for us and hoping for some kind of recovery soon!!
