Hi, my name is Dori Oakley.
UPDATE 2!!!! I got my incorporation papers!! Next is the tax ID number, which takes minutes. However, I am going to be about $200 short due to a Solicitation license I have to get. My personal bills are rather high this month, so I can't use my own money this month. I am already out of tents and sleeping bags, short on things to put in the backpacks, and well .... gas to drive to get and deliver things. I'm getting myself down though. God will put the right people in my path.
UPDATE!!! Step 1 is complete. I filed my articles of incorporation today! Thank you all for helping with this. We are on the right track to make a lot of people happy.
I'm starting this fundraiser to officially become a certified nonprofit charity organization so I can continue and expand the work I already do in my community.
I use my own money to help people who have no transportation get to food banks and doctor appointments, deliver medication, stock a community blessing box, and make sure families don't go hungry. I also support our homeless community by providing essentials like tents, blankets, hand warmers, solar phone chargers, socks, hygiene items, and more- always without judgment and without expecting anything in return. I love what I do, I just need a little help.
Right now, nearly all of these expenses come directly out of my own pocket, including gas, vehicle maintenance, and supplies. My husband and I are retired, so there is not a lot of funds to draw from after the bills are paid. But, so far, God has been on my side and making it work. Funds raised will be used to cover the costs of becoming an official nonprofit so I can continue giving back to the community in a sustainable way. There are perks with being a registered 501c3. I can get better food for my people and other resources I can't get right now. They all deserve to have the best I can do. Every dollar donated above the fees required, will go directly toward helping others.
