Hi, my name is Damien Singh, and I'm a student in San Jose working on a project that I genuinely care about.

Over 9,000 people in Santa Clara County experience homelessness every single night — people in our own community, on our own streets. For my Genius Hour project in English, I'm assembling care kits filled with socks, hygiene essentials, snacks, and a handwritten note, and delivering them directly to unhoused individuals in San Jose alongside local organizations like Front Door Communities and CityTeam.

But I'm not stopping at just handing out bags. I'm also volunteering on-site, creating a resource card with local shelter and meal information to go inside every kit, and writing a letter to a San Jose city council member about what I witnessed firsthand.

Every $5 funds one complete kit for one real person in our community.
