Help Me Complete My Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Ben Fordham. I’m a Life Scout with Troop 234 in Austin, TX, and I’m currently working toward becoming an Eagle Scout. For my Eagle Project, I’m building a 20’ x 14’ shade structure at Austin Vineyard Church to provide critical sun protection for their vegetable garden. This garden helps serve the local community, and the shade structure will improve plant health, reduce heat stress, and increase harvest quality, especially during the intense Texas summers.

The structure will be 10 feet tall with six support posts, a removable shade cloth, and strong, long-lasting materials that can handle the Texas elements. I’ve designed the project myself and will be leading a team of volunteers to complete the construction in July.

My fundraising goal is $1,500, which covers lumber, concrete, hardware, shade cloth, and additional materials.

Any donation will go a long way toward helping me bring this project to life. If I raise more than I need, all leftover funds will be donated back to Austin Vineyard Church or used to support future troop projects.
