Help us help our Kilimanjaro climbing team ️

Two years ago, I signed up to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. I found a local company through a few serendipitous connections and hoped for the best. What I didn’t expect was to meet one of the most compassionate, community-driven teams on the mountain.

The company is run by Abdul, a man who gives back to his local community in an unusual way that's rare among expedition groups.

Abdul started as a porter and has now climbed Kilimanjaro over 100 times. Through years of dedication, he built his own guiding company from the ground up.

But what sets him apart isn’t just his leadership on the mountain—it’s his deep commitment to his community. Nearly everyone he hires comes from his home village, about an hour outside of Moshi. Every trip supports not just the guides and porters, but also their families, neighbors, and the next generation. When you climb with Abdul’s team, you’re directly impacting hundreds of lives.

In July, I'm heading back to host my third group trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro.

And this time, we're not just climbing but we're also raising funds to help the village.

Abdul recently joined the local city council, representing his region. One of the biggest challenges his village faces is access to medical care:

They don’t have an ambulance.

Right now, when someone is seriously ill, a pregnant woman goes into labor, or a loved one passes away, there’s no vehicle to transport them to Moshi.

So this year, we’re asking for your help.

We’re raising money to support Abdul’s village and specifically to help fund a much-needed ambulance and medical supplies for the region.
