Rooted in Calm: A Sensory Room for Healing and Inclusion

I’m raising $1,000 to help one of our advocates create a Sensory & Grounding Room for neurodivergent clients, their children, and our neurodivergent team members at our local domestic violence shelter. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this gift will be presented on the last day of October as a symbol of care, inclusion, and appreciation.

This space will offer quiet refuge... with soft lighting, fidgets, weighted blankets, soothing textures, and calming scents. It is a space for anyone who needs a moment to regulate and feel safe. This will empower a very talented neurodivergent team member who deserves to know she’s valued, heard, and supported. My hope is to gift her the funds to bring her sensory room design to life. This is a project that will benefit both the survivors we serve and the advocates who support them.
