Help fund a BIPOC Zine - Complex(ion) Bend
Donation protected
Help us fund Complex(ion) - a zine for BIPOC by BIPOC in Central Oregon!
Currently, there is no platform or media coverage in Bend that gives avenue to BIPOC topics or BIPOC voices. This has inspired us to create Complex(ion) an independent, 100% BIPOC lead Zine.
Our goal is to center and uplift BIPOC voices and create a centralized platform towards our collective liberation. We believe that the use of Zines for social change is a key element in starting and sustaining conversations and addressing topics of oppression in a way that also provides safety and distance from the threat of racial violence which is prevalent in Central Oregon. So far, our zine covers a spectrum of social justice issues and is outlined as such:
· Black Lives Matter revolution and our roles in creating change
· Anti-racism education and actions to take in Central Oregon
· List of actionable steps to welcome and support diversity in Central Oregon
· How to be an accomplice vs. ally in the BLM and collective liberation movement
· BIPOC art and poetry
· Uplifting BIPOC joy as a form of resistance and busting stereotypes regarding about BIPOC
· BIPOC community building and resources by featuring local social justice groups and featuring local protests and rallies that are fighting for our collective liberation
We need your help to fund this movement. Funds will help us:
· 1000 printed color copies for community distribution per quarter (4000 total a year)
· 1yr Online Zine platform subscription to widen our exposure
· Graphic design costs
· Organizing and outreach costs such as advertising pamphlets, stickers, etc.
***Jessica Daas is the editor and co-founder for Complex(ion). A full accounting for how your donations are used and allocated will be made public as soon as possible. ***
Please consider supporting us and being a part of creating a safer community for us and future generations.
Thank you for your support!
