Help Fulfill Hilary's Wish for Charlie

My daughter, Hilary Keenan, lived her life with motherhood as her primary goal. In 2018, she was told by her doctor that if she were to conceive, it would have to be then, or never. She decided that being a “single mother by choice” would be tough, but there was no way she’d lose the opportunity to have a child. Through a donor, she conceived and her son, Charlie, was born three weeks into the Covid shutdown.

Charlie was her whole world. Everything he did was amazing to her and she loved him more than words can relay. She looked forward to teaching him to swim, ride a bike, read stories to him and love him unconditionally forever. But within four months of his birth, Hilary started feeling weak and ill. She thought it was probably normal postpartum recovery. It wasn’t; it was the beginning of four years of a downward spiral of complex health issues.

Hilary spent many, many months in the hospital as one illness after another ravaged her body. She finally succumbed and passed on August 18, 2024 surrounded by her family.

One of Hilary’s biggest worries was that Charlie wouldn’t be able to afford a college education or advanced education of his choice. She knew that her family would love him, nurture him, and teach him the importance of honesty and charity.

In her memory, her family asks that anyone that would like to contribute to Charlie’s education 529 fund, may do so through GoFundMe. All proceeds will be directed into his fund with no administrative fees deducted.

I, and Hilary’s family, thank you all for your kindness and generosity. We know she can rest in peace.
