Help Us Stop Acadia from Taking Over Our Small Town
Our peaceful town of Friendsville is under threat. Acadia Healthcare—a billion-dollar, for-profit corporation with a deeply troubling record—is trying to force a mega juvenile facility into the heart of our community. We urgently need your help to stand up and stop them.
Right now, we are facing a critical moment. Acadia is applying for permits and potentially seeking a zoning variance that would allow them to override our town’s current ordinances. We are doing everything we can to stop this—but we need legal expertise. Specifically, we need to hire a professional who understands land use and zoning laws and can help us challenge this the right way.
Earlier this week, many of you received postcards from us. Printing and mailing them cost nearly $2,000—a contribution we were willing to make personally because this fight matters. But we can’t keep doing it alone. If you can contribute anything at all, no matter how small, it will help us be ready to take this fight head-on.
We are not a nonprofit or a formal organization—we are just neighbors trying to protect the future of our town. If our city leaders have the courage to deny Acadia's permit or zoning request—and Acadia chooses not to appeal—then every dollar raised through this fundraiser will be donated to the City of Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department.
We hope and pray our commissioners will stand with us. But if they don’t, we must be prepared.
Help us help ourselves.
