Hi friends,
On Friday, January 30th, my uncle was working with my dad at a construction site when ICE detained him in Minnesota.
ICE had called my uncle on the phone that day, convincing him it was just a routine check, and since my uncle meets with immigration every six months, he thought it was normal. They told him, "Don't worry, we're not going to arrest you. We just need to come and make sure your work permit is valid." When he gave them the address of his workplace, they showed up and immediately arrested him.
Since then, he has now been moved to a detention facility in El Paso, Texas, miles away from any friends and family.
My uncle is a hardworking, funny, and kind man who has always offered to support anyone that needs help. As he was being taken, the last thing he asked from my dad was to go to his apartment and pick up the chicken soup he made for my dad and my family. He made it last night and he didn't want it to go bad.
All donations will go towards finding and hiring an immigration lawyer in Texas that can help bring my uncle back home. Any amount helps. Thank you so much.
