Hi, my name is Janet and this is my cousin, Tino Ortega.

Today, I am seeking a little bit of help from the community and friends to raise funds for my cousin's attorney fees.

On Wednesday, January 7th, Tino was wrongfully detained by CBP while working on a client's home. CBP broke multiple regulations while detaining Tino. They did not identify themselves, asked for a name, and Tino didn't have the chance to exercise his rights. As of now, he is being held at Adelanto Detention Facility. As we know and have heard, conditions are not the best in these detention facilities.

Our family has a lawyer working on Tino's case, but they are not the cheapest, especially in these times. The absence of Tino has affected our family in multiple ways and we could use a little help.

Tino is an amazing, talented, caring, funny person, but overall a hardworking person. He's been a gardener for many, many years, very family-oriented, and loves his BBQs every weekend. He is a great father, cousin, nephew, etc. He has helped my parents and myself in multiple ways and now is the time to pay it forward.
