On November 13th, my father, Ramiro Santiago Pacheco-Martinez, was kidnapped by ICE law enforcement while on his way to pick up his medication and is currently being held at a detention center in ICE custody.
My father is a loving and devoted father who came to America so that my brother and I could have a better life and more opportunities. He is a hard worker who worked day and night and who continued to do so even when he had his first heart attack. People know him as a caring man who will put his family first before anything else.
As stated before, my father had his first heart attack back in 2015, followed by three more later on in his life, and was given a pacemaker to help him. He has high blood pressure and diabetes as well. Recently, he developed peripheral edema, which causes his legs to swell up to the point he can’t walk and it even causes him to not be able to breathe. He needs his medication to help him stabilize. I’m worried that any law enforcement there isn’t giving him his medication and could potentially be causing him a life-threatening condition.
I am currently working with our team to help him get released, but we need to raise money for his legal fees. I ask that you please lend a hand and donate what you can. Even spreading the word is more than enough.
From his daughter,
- Marely Santana-Hernandez
