On October 9th, our family’s world changed.
My uncle was taken by ICE outside his home in Ontario, California, without warning. He is currently being held at a detention center, and although he has diabetes, he is not being given his medication, putting his health at serious risk.
My uncle has lived in the United States for over 20 years.
This country is his home. Here he has worked, built his family, and contributed to his community.
He is the sole provider for his household.
He works hard, pays his bills, and has no criminal record. All he has ever wanted is to give his family a better future.
At home His 10-year-old son, Mateo, who has autism, is struggling emotionally with the sudden change. Every night he asks for his dad. He cries, doesn’t want to talk, and is shutting down emotionally. It breaks our hearts that we cannot explain to him why his dad isn’t there to tuck him in at night.
My aunt is currently unemployed because she is Mateo’s full-time caregiver. With my uncle detained, they now have no income and are at risk of losing everything.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help cover:
• Immigration attorney fees
• Legal filings and representation to request his release
• Basic family expenses during this crisis
We are doing everything we can to secure proper legal representation and bring him home, where he belongs — with his wife and kids .
My uncle is a humble, hardworking, and kind man. He is not a threat to anyone. He deserves to be treated with dignity and to have the opportunity to fight his case with legal support, not alone.
Any amount — even $5 — helps more than you know.
If you cannot donate, please share the link so we can reach more people.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us fight for his freedom.
