Ease Francesca’s financial strain following her dad's death

On June 25th, Francesca's father, Peter, was sent to the ER, then the ICU. He died later that evening. Help for Francesca and her mom, Irene, is deeply needed now as they mourn their loss and reorient to life without this most beloved man.

Being self-employed, Francesca has lost a lot of income this year due to putting her time and energy toward caring for her parents. She will lose more as she continues to work full time dealing with the fallout from her father's death and helping her mom adjust to a very different life without her beloved husband of 70 years.

On June 25, 2022, Francesca and her husband, Aaron, moved to the Hudson Valley in New York when Francesca felt clearly called to relocate to be closer to her parents. She felt this was wise as they reached their 90s, despite them being in pretty stellar health at the time.

Soon the impetus for that move manifested. Francesca's father sustained a spinal cord injury on April 1 of this year and was placed in an acute rehabilitation facility after spinal surgery. This left her mom living on her own for the first time in her life and needing lots of help from Francesca, as her father had been doing everything for both of them for the past several years.

And then...Francesca's father was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer with a prognosis of 2-3 months to live. From that point on, her focus was on getting him excellent hospice care and Medicaid for her mom. Now that her father has passed, she will focus on making sure her mom has the care and support she needs.
