Fouad Ayman is a 36-year-old husband and father from al-Wusta in central Gaza. He once dreamed of building a peaceful life for his wife and children. But those dreams were buried under the rubble when their home was destroyed in the ongoing war. Now displaced and exhausted, Fouad lives in a borrowed tent in al-Wusta with his wife, Shireen, and their children – Jude, 11, Sham, 9, Amir, 4, and Ayman, 3. They live in a tent without warmth, comfort, or safety. He is suffering from malnutrition. “I have no money for diapers or food. We lost everything – now we are just trying to survive.” Fouad’s wife, Shireen, is a university student trying to continue her studies while raising their children in wartime conditions. The situation has become unbearable. Their tent offers no protection from the winter cold, the summer heat, or the flies and mosquitoes that swarm.
