Help for Sang(My mom) and her family

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

On January 25th, my mother’s eldest brother passed away, and I find myself unable to support our family in South Korea as much as I would like due to challenges I’ve faced over the last year. Over the past two years, I’ve been fortunate to visit once myself and to help my mother visit twice. My uncle, who welcomed me with open arms after not seeing me since I was 12, became a guiding light in reconnecting with our family. He quickly carved out a special place in my heart, and I was looking forward to creating more memories with him in the future. While technology helps bridge distances, nothing compares to being with your loved ones in person.

Now, I’m struggling because my ability to help is so limited. I’ve already sold many possessions to contribute what I can, but it’s not enough. For those who know me, you know how much my mother means to me—the love in her heart and the food she’s always placed in my belly have been constant sources of comfort. If my mother or I have ever touched your life in some way, I humbly ask you to consider contributing, even just a small amount, during these difficult times.

What is the money for?
  • Offsetting memorial fees for my uncle’s two children, who are currently in college.
  • Providing some relief to my cousins during this challenging time.
  • Covering travel costs for my mother to return to South Korea and be with her family now/future.
  • Ease financial concerns for her when traveling without me.

My Mom's Story
My mom grew up in rural South Korea as the eldest of six siblings—three brothers and two sisters. Her life has been marked by incredible strength and resilience. At just 16 years old, she lost her mother, and by 18, her father had passed away as well. With no one else to turn to, she took on the responsibility of raising her five younger siblings. She opened a small 24-hour restaurant in Korea, often sleeping at the cash register, while her 14-year-old brother—my uncle—became the primary caretaker for their younger siblings. Together, they made sure everyone was safe and supported, even scraping together enough to send each sibling to school during a time when even grade school required tuition.

After ensuring her siblings’ futures, my mom moved to the United States, where she started a new life and had me. She faced the challenges of raising a second family in a foreign country with incredible bravery and strength. Her sacrifices and unwavering dedication have shaped who I am today, and I owe her everything.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please consider donating if she's ever touched your heart like she's touched mine. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help honor my uncle’s memory and support the family he held so dear. I truly appreciate your kindness and generosity during this time.

Other donations can go directly to my FSB account or venmo/paypal/ect if you do not feel comfortable donating via this app. I will be documenting all donations and making sure she knows who is supporting her. If we get over the ask somehow, Ill ensure that we can get Eggrolls out to those that had it in their heart to help out.
