Help for robs burnt home.

Hi my name is Amber, on the 16th of may my dad, Robert Jamiesons flat set on fire due to a faulty charger. He was asleep on the sofa and thankfully woken up by the fire alarm but also a ring of fire surrounding him. The fire grew rapidly spreading to the door of his flat. The room quickly filled with thick black smoke making it almost impossible to see, which really upsets me every time I think of this. It must of been terrifying ! Somehow my dad managed to feel for the handle and prise it open which then lead to him falling down a flight of stairs. Which in a way may have been what saved him because moments later the entirety of his flat was up in flames. At this point he was found by a fireman and then taken straight to Royal Sussex county.

We are all still in shock. The outcome could have been a lot different give or take a couple of minutes. It is truly unbelievable he has not suffered any serious inguries other than severe smoke inhilation. However this has been a very traumatic experience as you can imagine! But aside from such a horrific ordeal we are now facing what lies ahead. Every single possession of his has gone. All of his furniture and appliances. All his clothes and shoes, his photos and everything in between is all now a pile off ash. The only thing he has left is the boxer shorts he had on when the ffiree took place. Imagine being 57 and woken up to your home on fire and everything inside burnt and gone forever in one moment?

As a family we are all doing everything we can to help and he will be living with me and my family until his property is back to normal. He is a proud man and wouldn't like the idea of charity but there is such a vast amount of things which need replacing. I thought the surprise of others generosity and kindness would be a great way to help him and give him that needed boost to support him during this difficult time. Just the thought of having absolutely nothing is already overwhelming when you are already in such a vulnerable state, let alone worrying how you will manage or replace it all.

Anything to help my dad will be so very much appreciated. We are already very grateful for all the love and support we have received so far. We appreciate that it is difficult time for most people at the moment and don't expect anyone to do anything beyond there means. We just want my dad to be sitting in his home comfortably and have the neccesaties he needs.
